(The deck has been transformed into a boxing ring. Everyone is yelling and cheering. Helo and Lee are boxing one another. Lee takes a heavy hit from Helo and begins to dream)

(Flashback: New Caprica Field)

(Lee wakes up and looks around for something - someone)

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(Lee and Helo continue to box. Lee dreams of Kara on New Caprica. Lee takes another heavy hit)

(Lee passionately kisses Dee)

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(Boxing continues)

(Galactica - Kara's bunk)

Kara: That was exactly what I needed.
Anders: Glad to be of service.
Kara: Dammit.
Anders: Looking for this? (holding her bra)
Kara: Yeah.
Anders: Kara, I want you back. I want our marriage back. I want a real marriage.
Kara: And what if I'm just not ready for that.
Anders: I don't know. I guess you'll never be. Maybe cause I'm not what you really want after all.
Kara: I'm late for the dance. Don't forget your boots on the way out, Sammy.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(Helo and Lee continue their fight)

(Flashback: New Caprica)

(Kara wakes up on a man's chest)

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(Round bell dings)

Kara: If it isn't the fighting Agathons, huh?
Sharon: Starbuck, late to the party as usual.
Kara: At least I got here in time to watch you kick the CAG's ass.
Kat(in the other corner): Lee, you got him, you just gotta keep your right up.
Helo: He's a tough little frakker, I'll give him that. He's fighting me like he's got it in for me.
Kara: Stay off the ropes.
Helo: Alright.
Kat (in the other corner): Stick and move, keep off the ropes. Alright, you got him!

(bell dings - fight begins again)

Kara: Well look at that. A couple of months ago you would have had to roll him into this ring.
Sharon: Well, not anymore. You know, with a cooler head he might have half a chance.

(Lee gets off a nice shot to Helo's jaw. After that, Lee begins to have flashbacks to New Caprica, seeing Kara and Anders together. Upon seeing Kara at the boxing match, Lee begins to slip. Helo gets several nice shots in. Lee is down, he pulls on the ropes and sees Kara. Tigh is counting)

Kara: Come on.

(Lee struggles to make it to his feet. Doc Cottle quickly examines him and waves him off. Tigh declares Helo as the winner. Lee is not happy. Kara smirks)

Tigh: Fisher! Fisher! You're up!

(Lee climbs out of the ring)

Galen: Good fight.
Kara: Bit off a little more than you can chew, huh?

(Lee ignores her)

Kara: Come on Lee, don't be that way. Stick around, the night's young.
Lee: Well I guess then you'll just have to enjoy it without me.
Kara: Pulling your tags out so soon?
Lee: I'm done, Kara.
Kara:(Puts her tags in the box): I'm not.
Lee: Now who's biting off more than they can chew, Captain?
Kara: Not from where I'm standing, Major.

(Lee puts his tags back into the box)

Lee: Excuse me.

(Flashback - New Caprica - Main Street)

Screen cap: New Caprica 17 months ago. 8 months before the Cylon occupation.

Dee: I can't believe the progress they've made. You should have seen it a month ago.
Lee: I'd still rather sleep in a warm bunk every night than muck around in this - muck.
Dee: Bunks going to be plenty warm tonight. He said yes.
Lee: Did he approve the transfer?
(Dee nods - they hug)
Kara: You two just don't know how to keep a secret do you? So what are you guys here to see Baltar put a shovel in the ground?
Anders (reading a flyer): "Join the celebration as we break ground for a better tomorrow."
Kara: Awh, it's such a load of crap.
Dee: There's an open bar.
Kara: Really? See, now why didn't you say so? Lee, you gotta let your better half do the talking for you. She gets right to the point! Now, lets go find us a better tomorrow. Excuse us!

(New Caprica - behind a tent off main street)

Roslin: Didn't expect to find you playing in the sand.
Adama: It's not sand, it's alluvial deposits. This used to be the river mouth.
Roslin: And you just had to take off your shoes and play in the alluvial deposits. How romantic.
Adama: That's a nice color on you.
Roslin: Thank you.
Adama: It's good to see your, Laura.
Roslin: You too, Bill.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

Roslin: There you are.
Adama: Hey hey! How are you?
Roslin: My father was an avid fight fan, I adored my father so I love a good fight. I heard about your so-called dance. Accidentally I might add.
Adama: Don't take it personally. It's sort of a private tradition.
Roslin: Tradition?
Adama: There's a lot of frustration aboard warships. Arguments become grudges and end up being feuds. This allows them to let off some steam out in the open so everybody can participate. Rank doesn't matter. As long as you throw your tags in the box, everyone's fair game.

(There is a knock out)

Tigh: Next up is Hot Dog! Hot Dog get your butt up here and pick a partner.
Roslin: Did you throw your tags in there?
Adama: Hahaha, no! No, I wish! All the frustrations that I have.
Tigh: Who's your partner, Hot Dog?
Hot Dog: Starbuck!
Kara: You've gotta be kidding me!

(Helo and Sharon ready Kara for her bout. The fight starts. It is even at first, but then Kara begins to really lay a beating on Hot Dog. He drops to the ground after an uppercut. Kara levels him as he tries to get up. Tigh declares her the winner.)

(New Caprica - Ceremony)

(Baltar puts a shovel in the ground - crowd applauses)

Baltar: Thank you. Let this day be remembered as the day we broke ground for our new tomorrow.

(New Caprica - Celebration)

Anders: But no, it gets better, okay? Cause then they come back to the locker room with a set of handcuffs and two straws!
(Tigh and Anders laugh. Tigh looks at Ellen who is smiling.)
Tigh: Did I ever tell you how glad I am I married you?
Ellen: Not once.
Tigh: Oh well, then I'll save it for a special occasion.
Ellen: Come here.
(they kiss)
Kara: Hey honey.
Anders: Hey baby.

Gaeta: We'll have the infrastructure to deal with any unforeseen uh…Excuse me, the finance minister just came by and I should really. Sorry.
Adama: Go ahead.
Roslin: Oh my Gods, I didn't think he'd ever leave.
Adama: He's a good kid.
Roslin: Hmm. Indeed.
Adama (smoking): You say this stuff grows around here?
Roslin: Mm-Hmm, in the mountains, north of here. There's this little stream that comes down into this lake. The water is so clear, it's like looking through glass. I'm thinking of building a cabin.
Adama: Woo, it's good.
Roslin: It is good.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

Roslin: That's a beautiful combination.
Grisky (To Galen): What'd I miss?
Galen: Grisky, you done that bird already?
Grisky: Nah, the gyro's giving me trouble. Come on, Chief! I'm the only one over there.
Galen: Fine, frak it! Get yourself a drink.
Adama: Ship down, Chief?
Galen: Yeah, we'll get it tomorrow. I figured I'll give em a little r and r.

(Flashback - Galactica - Adama's Quarters)

Adama: Congratulations. I may be jumping the gun but, first boy born on Galactica.
Galen: That's the thing I wanted to talk to you about, Sir. Cally doesn't want him born here, and neither do I. Not if he has a chance to grow up breathing fresh air.
Adama: What are you saying?
Galen: Thank you. Well we both would like to request to be relieved of duty and settle on New Caprica.
Adama: No. Haha, no way. You're both here, for the duration.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(Another fight ends.)

Roslin: What?
Adama: Can you hold these?
(He climbs into the ring. Crowd goes silent)
Adama: Chief! Get your fat, lazy ass up here.
(Crowd cheers)
Adama: Helo! Make um tight.
Helo: Yes Sir!
Galen (to Cally): He's an old man, I'll be fine. He's not serious anyways.
Tigh: You sure about this? It's your funeral.
(Galen climbs into the ring. He looks ready. He turns around to acknowledge the crowd and Adama decks him. Crowd cheers)
Adama: Get up Chief! We're just getting started.

(New Caprica - Main Street)

Galen: You know, I was thinking it's probably better to have the baby on the Galactica anyways. You know, there's uh, sick bay, doctors, medicine.
Cally: It'll be better. We'll be happier.
Galen: Yeah.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

Kara: Come on Admiral!

(Flashback: New Caprica)

(Kara, Dee and Lee dance. Ellen and Tigh kiss)

Kara: Hi honey!
Anders: Hey baby.

(New Caprica - Somewhere near the celebration)

(Night - Adama and Roslin lay under the stars)

Roslin: Is this really it, Bill? Is this how we're going to spend the rest of our days? Hm?

(Dancing)

Roslin: Maybe we should just enjoy this.
Adama: I am.
Roslin: No, no. I mean enjoy being here on this planet as long as it lasts. I mean maybe, the Cylons come back maybe they don't. But for now, right now, we've got a break.
Adama: I've got people that want to get off the ship and move down here.
Roslin: Can't say I blame them. I mean what are you going to do?

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

Adama: Is this how you fight your enemies Chief? How you fight for you life? No excuses! Show me you're a soldier. Get up!
(Galen is up, ready to fight. Adama misses with a punch and Galen nails him in the gut.)
Galen: Is that what you want? Is that what you want, Admiral?
(Adama hits him twice, sending Galen down. He gets right back up.)
Kat: Nice Admiral!
Kara: The old man's got chops! He knows when to make his moves, when to hold back. I wish I could say the same for his son. Come on!

(Flashback: New Caprica - Celebration)

Lee: I bring offerings.
Kara: Just in time. I was runnin on bingo fuel.
Lee: Wow look at that! (Anders is passed out on the ground, under a table) You literally drank Anders under the table.
Kara: Where's Dee?
Lee: Oh she uh, packed it in, to go pack. (Lee laughs at his dumb joke)
Kara: Guess it's just you and me then.
Lee: Yup, it's just you and me.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

Lee: Come on Dad!

(The fight continues, Galen is hitting Adama every chance he gets. Adama falls to the ground. The crowd goes silent. Doc Cottle comes to Adama's aid right away. As does Roslin)

Cottle: That's bad. That's enough already. You should quit.
Adama: Just stop the blood.
Roslin: Coagulant from the swelling and bleeding. Come on. You insist on doing this, you want to do this, you're crazy, right? You want to do this?
Adama: Yeah.
Roslin: Alright, keep your guard up, he's coming in wild. Get him with a left hook, you wanna win?
Adama: I'm not gonna win.
Pilot (with Chief): Watch his jab! His jab's killing you alright? Just keep your eyes open. Okay you're looking good.

(Flashback: New Caprica - morning after the celebration)

Adama: Chief, good morning. Morning Cally.
Galen: Admiral.
Adama: I've been thinking about uh, what you said. A Battlestar's no place to raise a family. So I'm gonna miss you Chief, and I'm going to wish you good luck.
Galen: Thank you, Sir.
Adama: The best to both of you.
Cally: You mean it, really? Thank you!
Adama: I want you guys to have at least a dozen.
Cally: We'll see about that.

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(Adama is getting destroyed. The Crowd is out of the fight. Galen keeps hitting Adama. Adama goes down. Galen helps Adama up.)

Adama: When you stand on this deck, you be ready to fight, or you dishonor the reason why were here. Now remember this. When you fight a man, he's not your friend. Same goes when you lead men. I forgot that once. I let you get too close, all of you. I dropped my guard. I gave some of you breaks, let some of you go, before the fight was really over. I let this crew - and this family, this band, and we paid the price in lives. That can't happen again.
Galen: Grigrisky, you're with me. Let's get that bird back on the line.
Adama: Madam President.
Roslin: Admiral.
Tigh: Alright, this dance is over. Get your booze and your dog tags and lets get out of here.
Kara: What, you're just gonna call it?
Tigh: Not enough excitement for one night for you, Captain?
Kara (to Lee): Hey, Hey! Where the frak do you think you're going?
Lee: It's over, Kara.
Kara: So what, you have the guts to try and frak another mans woman but not to fight one? I wonder if Dee knew what she was getting. Think she would have settled for sloppy seconds?
(Lee punches her)
Kara: Hrm, truth stings doesn't it?
Lee: You want a fight, Captain? You got it.

(The fight - both come out swinging. Both dodge the other's attacks. Dee walks in and does not look happy.)

Kara: What, you afraid to hit me?

(Kara hits him)

Kara: Or maybe you can't.

(Lee nails her)

(Flashback: New Caprica - night, a field)

Kara: Check it out! It's a great place for a house.
Lee: So you're really gonna give up flying?
Kara: Eh, flyings gonna suck now anyway. Lot's of training, endless CAP's. War's over, so is all the good stuff.
Lee: Give me a tour, of the future life of Kara Anders.
Kara: I'm not getting married.
Lee: Well then, uh. What's the point Kara? I mean you love him, right?
Kara: Where are we going with this, Lee?
Lee: Well now that's the question, isn't it? Where are we going? And what if this, this is it? The rest of your life, Kara. Is this how you want to spend it? Is this who you want to spend it with?

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(They continue to box)

Anders: What's going on?
Dee: What's it look like?
Anders: Looks like they're trying to kill each other.
Dee: That's one perspective.

(Flashback: New Caprica - night, a field)

(Kara and Lee kiss and have sex.)

Kara: Well that makes things more complicated.
Lee: Yeah.
Kara: What are we gonna do?
Lee: What are we gonna do? We accept it. Tomorrow I tell Dee, you tell Sam.
Kara: Just like that?
Lee: Just like that.
Kara: I don't know.
Lee: Yeah, we tell them how we feel. We shout it to the skies.
Kara: Oh yeah, yeah right, uh huh.
Lee: Well you, you don't think I will?
Kara: Mm-hmm. Lee!
Lee (screaming): My name is Lee Adama and love Kara Thrace!
(Kara laughs)
Lee: What, it's not like anyone will hear, we're in your, in your cabin in the forest right? (screaming): I love Kara Thrace! And I don't care who frakkin knows!
(They laugh)
Kara: Oh you're crazy, get down here!
Lee: Oh come on, I'm not gonna stop until you get up and do it too.
Kara: I can't.
Lee: I'm not… okay here we go again (screaming): Lee Adama!
Kara: Okay! Shh! Okay. Ka - (Screaming): Kara Thrace loves Lee Adama!
(They kiss)

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(they continue to beat on each other)

Helo: Starbuck get up! Get up you can do this!

(Kara kicks his legs out from under him, and then kicks him in the face as he tries to get up)

(Flashback: New Caprica. A field, morning)

(Lee wakes up with no one around him. He walks into town)

(New Caprica - Town)

Lee: Morning Admiral.
Adama: You look like you had a good time.
Lee: Yeah it was some party.
Adama: Yeah well it's been a hell of a morning too. You missed all the excitement.
Lee: Nice, problems upstairs?
Adama: No, no, good things. Kara got married. Do you believe that?
Lee: What?
Adama: Yeah about an hour ago. Found herself a priest, went down by the river and got married. You okay?
(Lee is visibly upset. He then sees her and Anders walking hand in hand)
Adama: Can you believe that? Well she deserves it then. We all deserve to be happy. I also gave her permission to muster out, along with Tyrol and Cally, a few of the others. So it'll be up to us to make sure there's no mass exodus.
(Lee walks to Kara and Anders)

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(The fight is becoming more and more violent. Lee starts hammering Kara's side with blows. Kara is using her legs)

(Flashback: New Caprica - Main Street)

Anders: Hey man! Did you hear the news? We're hitched! We got married! Can you believe it?
Lee: No, no, I can't believe it.
Anders: Yeah! No it was crazy, she - she comes down and she wakes me up, she pops the question, she drags me down to the priest and bang, like that, we're married.
Lee: So it was your idea?
Kara: Yeah. It was my idea.
Anders: Do you guys, do you guys want a minute to uh, you know, talk?
Lee: Congratulations, Sam.
Anders: Yeah!
Lee: And good luck, you're gonna need it.

(Lee walks away and finds Dee, they passionately kiss.)

(Galactica - Hanger Deck)

(the fight is winding down, both Lee and Kara are worn out. There are flashes to scenes from Colonial Day, the miniseries, and Lay Down Your Burdens Part 2. Eventually both contestants come to hug one another in the center of the ring. Scenes from Home part one flash.)

Anders: I'm outta here.

(Dee is visibly upset.)

Kara: I've missed you.
Lee: I've missed - I've missed you too.

(Kara smiles)
