From VancouverFilm.Net comes a sneak peek of the Vancouver-lensed MOW Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, shot in Vancouver September 2008, consisting of newly filmed material and a clips compilation from the TV show/mini-series, revealing the universe-dominating plan of the robot 'Cylons'.
Just after The 'Destruction of the Twelve Colonies', two 'Cylon' agents discuss the 'problem' of the remaining humans, both on the planets and those who have escaped into space. From there, events are shown from a Cylon perspective. "When Battlestar fans see The Plan, they’re all going to have to go back and watch the entire series again," said series star and The Plan director Edward James Olmos. Scenes include 'Aaron Doral' preparing for the suicide bombing seen in the Litmus episode, Anders awakening in a Cylon resurrection chamber and 'Cavil' berating 'Boomer' for failing to kill 'William Adama' in Kobol's Last Gleaming. Also in addition to 'Shelly Godfrey', another dark-haired 'Six' called 'Tough Six' makes an appearance. Battlestar Galactica: The Plan airs November 2009 on Sci Fi... Well I've now seen it and for me it's kinda a bitter sweet.
My initial thoughts are 'just how frakking good was this show!' - unfortunately I thought that because of all the reused footage! Some bits were more useful than others, but it still felt like 'The Plan' was the 'Cavil Show' - and confuse that too. The whole point of the 'models' was I thought in large were archetypes. Six that fell for Baltar and Boomer were supposed to be exceptions that started the whole Cylon faction to split. Yet Cavil who is supposed to be so single minded in the destruction of humans for their sin positively revels in earthly human sin despite of his protestations and disgust for the human form, Cylon intelligence = pure machine intelligence not befitting of weakness of the flesh etc etc. Noteworthy parts were IMHO Rick Worthy as Simon, Lymari Nadal (Giana), Grace Park as Boomer, KKR as Leoben and Micheal Trucco at Sam. (esp Worthy and Trucco) Tricia H didn't have much to do other than look pained when playing Baltar's Six, or like a drunk under dressed bad girl cylon for the rest. Dean Stockwell was good at being Dean Stockwell LOL (and I wouldn't like it any other way) EJO and Hogan weren't in it really. It was nice to see the Chief being the (pre cyclon) Chief too....(damn, he's changed since the mini!) Best comedy line goes to Bennett dead panning the lines about his 'disguise' '.....no, his jacket was burgendy, this is teal.' -------------------- 'Hay, you know spies, bunch of bitchy little girls'
